A3 Work on paper, this painting turned in to a pallet. Many of the marks happened by chance. e.g. putting my paintbrush down randomly when working on another piece I didn’t have a composition in mind but has been composition is created. I am interested in the way my eye is drawn into the blurred blue shape in the centre. I feel like there is an element of vibration in how the colours interact with each other. I wish the blue blurred shape was not as central as I feel that it looks too contrived. I will use this as a basis for my source material for my next larger work, but I will not be dictated by it. There is something happening here through improvisation and chance that I feel is special. This feels like a linking passage and a movement towards my next piece. I am excited as to how this piece could evolve, through accepting old marks, re-creating and regaining new improvisation
Everything is art, the world is art. Our Lives are artist journeys of discovery. Painting encapsulates and documents this journey connecting feelings, sight, sounds, and emotion in a poetic voice.
Reckless impulsive lead by the heart. Freedom, improvisation. Honest, self indulgent. Active. Medatitive. Sound, nature, primordial, UN planned. Chance.
A collection of source sounds found in the form of bubbles. They resonate together creating a harmony and one sound the sounds are mobile and are going on a journey.
Expression of the self. My knowledge and experience’s affect my outpourings. I am a musician, this encourages me to notice the connections between musical and art language. I talk about my work in relation to music because it’s the way I know how. I also have synaesthesia. For me painting triggers me to feel sounds and sound trigger me to feel the essence of painting. My paintings are not compositions but they create compositions. sound is there, it leaves an echo and then it is gone. Painting can preserve that echo after the “event” of painting. A constant process of layer’s gaining and extinguishing marks.
